PSB Presents: The Worst Bestsellers Podcast- Live!
By Porter Square Books
Join Porter Square Books for a live podcast recording with Worst Bestsellers! Worst Bestsellers is a podcast where Kait & Renata read popular books of questionable quality so you don’t have to! For this live episode, they'll discuss Dave Hollis's book Get Out Of Your Own Way, joined by their guest Margaret H. Willison. This event is free and open to all.
Every other week, hosts Kait and Renata sit down with a guest for an in-depth discussion of a different book. Book picks cross genres and audiences, touching upon new releases, popular classics, and the zeigiesty titles that everyone seems to be talking about. Through their plot summary and discussion, they attempt to explain what works and doesn't work for them as they try to piece together what makes these titles so popular. While most of the books are chosen with the assumption that they won't be enjoyable, occasionally they like to pick a title representative of a genre to discuss the genre as a whole, and sometimes they even find themselves liking one of the books they were sure they would pan. They can be found at worstbestsellers.com.
Margaret H. Willison is a culture writer, podcaster, and self-described social mediate socialite. She is one half of the Two Bossy Dames newsletter, one third of the Appointment Television podcast, and a regular fourth chair on NPR's Pop Culture Happy Hour. Her favorite books include Persuasion by Jane Austen, Wives and Daughters by Elizabeth Gaskell, 84 Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff, Bellweather Rhapsody by Kate Racculia, I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith, To Llove and Be Wise by Josephine Tey, and The Agency series by Y.S. Lee.
