Erin McCarthy: "Doubtful Readers" Online Book Launch
By Society for Renaissance Studies
Due to the ongoing travel restrictions and disruption caused by Covid-19, a number of book launches and other events of interest to our members have been cancelled or postponed. In what the SRS hopes will become a regular series, we have invited Erin A. McCarthy, author of Doubtful Readers: Print, Poetry, and the Reading Public in Early Modern England to discuss her work with friends, colleagues and well-wishers, in lieu of the book launch that was due to be held at the Renaissance Society of America annual meeting in Philadelphia on 2 April 2020.
For those of you listening on catchup, the speakers are Richard Wistreich (chair of the SRS), Daniel Starza Smith (introducing Erin), Erin McCarthy (the reason we are all here), Joshua Eckhardt (yes, you are live with a wonderful tribute to Erin's work), and Marie-Louise Coolahan (excellent discussion of Erin's book and toasting), and the McCarthy clan (sorry about the feedback). It was a lovely event: thank you all for coming and for your contributions.
