Amber Ruffin & Lacey Lamar Virtual Author Visit

Omaha Public Library will host Amber Ruffin and Lacey Lamar, authors of the 2021 Omaha Reads book, "You'll Never Believe What Happened to Lacey: Crazy Stories about Racism” for a moderated discussion and Q&A via Crowdcast. Registration is required. Access to Crowdcast event will be emailed prior to the event.
Amber Ruffin stars in and executive produces The Amber Ruffin Show on Peacock, while continuing to hold her positions as writer and performer on Late Night with Seth Meyers. She has been a part of LNSM since its inception in 2014 and is the first African American woman ever to write for a network late-night talk show. Ruffin has also performed and written for such shows as Drunk History, Stevie TV, and Key and Peele.
Lacey Lamar is Amber Ruffin’s big sister. She has worked in the healthcare and human service field for more than twenty-five years, thirteen of those working with troubled youth in her community. She volunteers her time and resources to black, brown refugee and indigenous fellow humans in any way she can. Lacey lives in Nebraska with her unbelievable amazing daughter Imani and their 130lb Great Dane Izzy.
Omaha Reads is a campaign to promote literacy and provide the city with a common theme to discuss. One book is selected each year and celebrated with book discussions, author visits and related programs and events.
