Intersections of Indigenous Environmental Justice & Climate Change
By TPL Programs
Members of the Indigenous Environmental Justice Project (IEJ Project) will discuss concepts of environmental justice and Indigenous ways of thinking about our environment. Participants will also be encouraged to reflect upon their role in the natural world and to share their knowledge and experiences during the session.
Presented by York University Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair Deborah McGregor (Anishinaabe) and fellow members of the IEJ Project.
The IEJ Project is a research project established in 2016 based out of York University. Its research aims to develop a distinctive environmental justice framework informed by Indigenous knowledge systems, laws, concepts of justice, and Indigenous peoples' lived experiences.
This Live & Online presentation celebrates National Indigenous History Month and is part of Toronto Public Library's Our Fragile Planet program series, supported by TD Friends of the Environment Foundation (TD FEF).
