Toronto Star Short Story Contest: Prize Ceremony

By TPLCulture

Join us for the Toronto Star Short Story Contest Prize Ceremony where the prize-winning story of the 2021 contest will be announced. The event will feature prize jurors, Toronto Star and Humber School for Writers staff and the winner of the prize, followed by a discussion with Deb Dundas and two of the prize jurors, Ann Y.K. Choi and Adnan Khan, who will talk about their experience on the jury, their own writing careers and what prizes like this mean to emerging writers today.
The Toronto Star Short Story Contest , now in its 43rd year, carries one of biggest prizes in Canada for a short story contest, with the first-place winner receiving $5,000, plus tuition fee for the creative writing graduate certificate program at the Humber School for Writers. Second and third-place winners will receive $2,000 and $1,000 respectively.
This marks the 12th year that the Star is partnering with Toronto Public Library and the 11th year with the Humber School for Writers.
