The Next Step toward Justice: Sean Ellis & his Attorneys React to DA Rollins's Court Filing
By New England Innocence Project
On December 9, 2020, Sean Ellis and his attorneys, Rosemary Scapicchio and Jillise McDonough, filed a motion for new trial to overturn the gun convictions remaining on his record from his wrongful conviction for the murder of Boston Police Detective John Mulligan.
Today, March 17, 2021, DA Rollins filed her assent in Court, stating (among other things) that "[c]orruption at the root tainted every branch of the investigation into Detective Mulligan's murder, including the gun possession charges."
Join Sean Ellis, Attorney Rosemary Scapicchio, and Attorney Jillise McDonough, along with Lisa Kavanaugh, Director of the CPCS Innocence Program, and Radha Natarajan, Executive Director of the New England Innocence Project, as they react to DA Rollins's filing.
