We'll cover the basics of being in business as a freelancer, including:
- Form of business (sole prop/LLC/S-corp)
- Tracking income and expenses
- What is tax deductible anyway?!
- How to set aside money for taxes
- How to pay quarterly estimates
- How to get help when you need it
Plus answers to your questions!
please note: this workshop will be most relevant to US based artists because of the vastly differing international taxation laws!
Introducing Sandi:
📷Hi, I’m Sandi. I’m a CPA with over 25 years experience. During that time, I’ve also been an avid fitness enthusiast. I figured out quickly that my day would go much better if I got up at the crack of dawn and worked out before going to work. Sure, in my 20’s it was all about my appearance. But I noticed (and those in my household reminded me, HA!) that I’m a much happier person when I’m getting in my workouts.
I’ve weight trained, been a runner, enjoyed yoga (especially BUTI yoga), calisthenics, and skills training, like hand balancing. I love to be outdoors, and enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, motorcycling, and golfing. But I found I really loved expressing my strength via aerial lyra. Suffice it to say, sitting at my desk and doing accounting all day is not the best part of my day.
But I’m good at it. And I discovered that it’s not the numbers that are exciting. It’s the stories and people behind them. The “Why did you go into business?” and the “What’s keeping you up at night?”
I started Fit Money Coach as a way to reach out to health and fitness professionals and help answer some questions that you all seem to have. It’s a natural bridge between my two worlds. You are my people. I speak your language and I can help you learn mine.
