Sustaining Our Spirits — Beth Wood, songwriter & poet

By David LaMotte

“Beth Wood is a musical triple-threat — a thoughtful songwriter and talented multi-instrumentalist with a supple, soulful voice.”
— Washington Post If you're familiar with my own music, then you have certainly heard Beth Wood's voice, which is perhaps my favorite singing voice in the world, bar none. She is also an exquisite songwriter, and excellent guitarist and pianist, and a completely charming performer. I have jumped at the chance to include her harmonies on each of my last several studio albums.
Check her art out in advance here: https://www.bethwoodmusic.com/
In addition to her eleven albums, Beth has released two books of poetry, Kazoo Symphonies and Ladder To The Light (2019 Oregon Book Award finalist and Reader’s Choice Award Winner) on Mezcalita Press. Beth says that she believes that engagement in the process of creation is as important as its outcome. I am very much looking forward to talking with her about how art and creativity can be tools for healing and soul-care in challenging times. We will be talking at 1PM Eastern on Wednesday, March 18, right here, and then will have a smaller 'digital after party' for members of my Patreon community with more of a chance for direct conversation with Beth, here. If you are not a part of my Patreon group, but would like to join the 118 folks who are, you can do that by clicking the link below. The after-party link is here: https://www.crowdcast.io/e/beth-wood-after-party I hope you can join us for what is sure to be a rich conversation. See you there! David
