The definition of improvisation is the spontaneous creation of music in a given moment without any preparation. This kind of musical action happens all the time in the context of Snarky Puppy and the music we play. There can be lots of individual preparation before this spontaneous creation happens on the stage/performance. For this workshop, I’ll explain some of the ways I inform myself of the music and develop ways to create in the moment. I’ll use a few tunes from the Snarky catalog as reference points. Bring your ears, instruments, and creativity!
