PSB: Boston Edition and GrubStreet are delighted to present the latest installment of the Grubbie Debut event series featuring Marcella Haddad, author of Sidewinder! Margot Douaihy will join the author in conversation. Copies of Sidewinder will be available for purchase at the event, as well of phsyical copies of Haddad's micro-chapbook, Witch House.
In this surrealist western, a gunslinger in a remote desert city contends with prophecies, monsters, and outlaws.
Marcella Haddad loves armadillos, Nutella, and the sea. Her prose and poetry has appeared in Variant Literature, Okay Donkey, Apparition Lit, and others, and has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net. She was a Tin House YA 2022 Scholar, and is the Managing Editor of Moonflake Press. She holds an MFA from Umass Amherst and is the author of the micro-chapbook WITCH HOUSE (Ghost City Press) and the novella SIDEWINDER (Gateway Literary Press). Margot Douaihy is the author of the queer crime novel Scorched Grace, the inaugural title of Gillian Flynn Books, the new imprint with Zando. Scorched Grace was named a New York Times Book Review Editors’ Choice, a Best Book of 2023 by Marie Claire, an American Booksellers' Indie Next Pick, and it has been optioned for a screen adaptation. In fall 2023, Margot will join Emerson College as an Assistant Professor in Popular Fiction Writing and Literature.
