In 2017 Tarana Burke’s #MeToo movement broke into the mainstream and hasn’t stopped since. In response to this, the Musicians’ Union launched the Safe Space scheme for musicians to share instances of sexism, sexual harassment and sexual abuse in the music industry.
Chaired by Naomi Pohl, Deputy General Secretary at the Musicians’ Union, this panel will discuss the specific ways that sexual harassment impacts DJs and electronic music communities and reflect on how we can continue the work to challenge the culture of sexual harassment, sexism and empower musicians.
The panellists:
DJ Paulette, DJ
Lauren Flax, DJ, songwriter, producer
Jaguar, MeToo- #ForTheMusic
Carl Loban, Editor @ DJ Mag
