Religious Socialism and the Solidarity Economy

By Zebras Unite

Fran Quigley of the Indiana University McKinney School of Law will be discussing his new book, Religious Socialism, “faith in action for a better world.”
His book blends some recovered U.S. history about the interaction of democratic socialism with Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, and Mormonism and profiles of contemporary figures in this movement.
Fran, a former journalist, is an active member of the Religion and Socialism Working Group of the Democratic Socialists of America.
Responding to Fran’s remarks will be Umar Nasser, co-founder of Rational Religion and Chaz Howard (University of Pennsylvania). The moderator will be Elias Crim, founder/editor of Solidarity Hall.
