Sculpting Your Poem with Zack Rogow - Catamaran Writing Conference
By Catamaran Literary Reader
Poems are notoriously slippery and challenging to shape. This workshop/reading will provide you with ideas and inspirations on how to structure a poem, from opening to closure, and much in between. Using examples from his recent book Irreverent Litanies, Catamaran Poetry Prize judge Zack Rogow will give suggestions and advice on how to shape a poem to make it engaging and surprising to the reader. The workshop will be a dialogue between Zack and Catamaran's Matthew Simmons, with ample time to answer questions from attendees.
Zack Rogow is the author, editor, or translator of more than twenty books or plays. His most recent poetry collection is Irreverent Litanies from Regal House Publishing. His co-authored play Colette Uncensored had a staged reading at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, and ran in London, SanFrancisco, and Portland. Zack’s blog, Advicefor Writers, has more than 200 posts. He serves as a contributing editor to Catamaran Literary Reader and has judged the Catamaran Poetry Prize for the last three years.
