Peony Brush Painting Class

By Nan Rae Studio

Painting the Peony: "King of All Flowers"
Learning balance and understanding the basic hexagon shape are covered in the Peony lesson.
A Royal Experience in China, the Peony was known as the ‘King of all Flowers’ and the epitome of ‘saucy nobility’. The Yellow Peony is known as the ‘King’s Flower’; Yellow was the Royal color.
The Peony is magnificent in royal appearance and complex in its structure and conception. An initial approach to the mastery of this blossom requires serious study. But it is a royal road – and endless fun … infinite satisfaction … infinite delight! This study introduces you to the royalty of Peony’s effulgent beauty. The joy is in the approach to this study: it must be courtly, respectful, noble, and serious. (Well, maybe not too serious.) Royalty deserves no less.
This is a 2-hr live class on painting the peony step by step.
1 hr 20 minutes (demo)
40 minutes (Q & A)
