Passing Out: The Podcast
By National Army Museum
Join James Robert Moore, host of Passing Out: The Podcast, in conversation with serving soldiers and veterans as they share their stories and experiences of life in the Army.
Twenty-one years ago, the ban on homosexuality in the Armed Forces was lifted. Delivered in partnership with the Army LGBT+ Forum, this edition of Passing Out: The Podcast will explore how far the Army has come in breaking down stereotypes over the past 20 years.
Panellists will discuss life in the Army before, during and after the ban, and how the arts and cultural environment can help challenge preconceptions surrounding the LGBT+ community and the military.
The panel will include:
- Sergeant Guy Lowe-Barrow MBE
- WO2 Deborah Penny
- Sapper Cameron Chilton
- Corporal Rhona Carse
- Robert Ely
Passing Out: The Podcast is a series of conversations with serving and veteran soldiers from the LGBT+ community sharing their stories, experiences and life lessons from their time in the British Army.
The Army LGBT+ Forum is a volunteer-led British Army Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity network providing support to the Army LGBT+ community and advice to commanders.
