What you'll learn
Over the course of the hour, we'll explore the factors paraplanners should consider when planning for couples.
The discussion will include:
- Examples from other professions on working with couples
- An overview of the new Consumer Duty rules (currently in consultation)
- Why it's important you know who you are working with and how to know
- Considerations around partners who are passive in financial decision making
- Where gender bias can play into risk discussions
Among other things, we'll also explore the dynamics introduced age, longevity, divorce and same sex partnerships and marriage.
Who you'll meet
- Laura Barnes – Laura is Parmenion’s Head of Intermediary Distribution, a role created in 2020 to support the evolving needs of intermediary clients. Her remit covers everything from leading a growing Distribution team to developing key client relationships.Laura has two decades of experience working in the financial services industry including senior distribution roles at Aegon, Cofunds and Axa Wealth.
- Patrick Ingram - Patrick is Parmenion’s Head of Strategic Partnerships, joining in 2009. He has experience of private client discretionary management and wealth management consolidation, in a number of AIM quoted companies. He was previously CEO of Rowan & Co and Finance Director of Seymour Pierce Group plc. Patrick graduated with degree in History from Oxford University in 1981, trained as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG, and holds the ASIP investment research qualification.
