Misty Copeland Discusses Bunheads at MahoganyBooks
By MahoganyBooks
MahoganyBooks is beyond thrilled to welcome the incomparable Misty Copeland to the Front Row as she discusses her latest work for kids, Bunheads. The first 200 book orders will receive a special autographed bookplate from Misty Copeland herself! Limit 2 bookplates per customer.
BUNHEADS is inspired by Misty’s own early experiences in ballet – the nerves and self-doubt that come with auditioning and performing with a group, and the elation and joy that come with putting on an amazing show by working together. In the book, young Misty discovers her love of dance through the ballet Coppélia, a story about a toymaker who devises a villainous plan to bring a doll to life. Despite her uncertainty that she can pull off the role, Misty auditions and wins the part of the heroine, Swanilda, and together with newfound friends, puts on an unforgettable show.
