The combination of Eclipse Sprotty and Langium enables you to develop both graphical and textual representations of a general-purpose or domain-specific language in a breeze. These frameworks are fully built on TypeScript, the same foundation on which Eclipse Theia and VS Code are standing. With this coherent technology stack, you get a tooling solution with better long-term maintainability compared to a code base split across multiple technologies.

I will introduce the open source project Langium and show how to integrate that with Sprotty to create a VS Code extension contributing a textual language with generated graphical views.
