Resting in Peace in Newport: Monuments From the Past Lessons for the Present

By The Redwood Library & Athenæum

For more than 300 years people have been buried in Newport. Their gravesites and gravestones provide a glimpse into an earlier time and provide us with information about the people and the society in which they live. Elements of the recently published book, A Guide to Historic Burying Sites in Newport, will provide the basis for the presentation.
Lew Keen currently serves as the Chair of the Newport Historic Cemetery Advisory Commission. He is also a Newport County representative to the Rhode Island Historical Cemetery Commission.
