About the speakers
Joshua Lurie is an accomplished food journalist living in Los Angeles where he founded FoodGPS.com in 2005 and continue to showcase the best food and drink, regardless of price or cuisine, while sharing stories of people behind the flavor. He developed my love for great food and culture while taking family trips into Manhattan, by driving cross-country during college breaks, and by exploring the world. He has contributed articles to publications like The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter.
Minh Phan is the chef and owner of Porridge + Puffs in Historic Filipinotown and a bedrock of the L.A. food industry. Phan’s standing among her peers stems from both her cooking (soothing, but also sneakily pyrotechnic in its use of pickles, savory jams and other acidic blasts) and her leadership. Joining forces with organizations including Asian Pacific Islander Forward Movement, Food Forward, SEE-LA and Miry’s List, she jumps in to feed seniors and residents of underserved neighborhoods.
