About Jennifer Sturrock:
Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Jennifer Sturrock is a multidisciplinary artist, writer and educator weaving waves words and matter.
Studying at Chelsea College of Art and London College of Fashion, she then gained a Masters Degree in Theology & the Arts, from Kings College London, majoring in the ‘Idea of Beauty' and the Biblical narrative of the Transfiguration.
Formerly Senior Producer of Residencies at the V&A Museum, where she mentored and worked with artists and designers, she delivers training and works with a range organisations exploring ideas of creative process, including: St Paul’s Cathedral, Royal Society of the Arts, Courtauld Institute and the University of the Arts London.
Integrating textiles, fashion and poetry, she continues to develop her artistic practice, most recently exhibiting an installation Deeply Woven in Edinburgh, as well as collaborate with brands, cultural institutions and universities in various projects and public engagement in the UK and internationally.
Her recent collection of poetry, Pulling Threads (April, 2020), combining twenty poems and twenty textile artworks ‘unravelling the unknown’, has been acquired by the National Poetry Library for their permanent collection in London, and is currently stocked in Shakespeare & Co bookshop in Paris.
