By Abas Arshad
REVIVING A LOST SCIENCE
Just as a Muslim is expected to live his day to day life according to the laws as ordained by Almighty Allah, likewise he is also expected to follow and obey the laws in matters regarding death (i.e. a funeral), payments of debts, execution of a Will and distribution of the remaining estate amongst the heirs according to the Sharī’ah.
This course aims to provide a comprehensive study of the laws of inheritance by dealing with the fundamentals of this science in a complete and thorough manner, in accordance to the Hanafi School of Jurisprudence, In Shā Allah.
During the course of this module we will be taking a look at the following:
• The definition and importance of Inheritance
• The conditions of Inheritance
• What happens to the wealth of the deceased that they have left behind?
• Who are the inheritors?
• Why can someone not receive inheritance?
• Types of shares
• Who are the individuals entitled to inheritance and what are their portions?
This module will be the first out of two modules (with the second to arrive towards the end of this year In Shā Allah) and will continue for the duration of 10 weeks.
Lessons will take place once a week on a Friday at 8:30pm (UK time).
