Invasive Alien Species by the Waterside

By Monaghan County Libraries

Aquatic Invasive alien species, when present, can thrive to the point of negatively impacting on native species, altering habitats, affecting ecosystem functioning and services, as well as threatening local rural economies.
This presentation by Colette O'Flynn from the National Biodiversity Data Centre & Ben Malone from the Local Authority Waters Programme will provide some background on these species and the impact they are having on our local water environments.
All participants joining the event live will be welcome to participate in Q&A if there are any aspects of the topic you would like to discuss a little bit further.
