NeuVector and IBM on Containers - Introduction to Container Security

By IBM Developer

Kubernetes is an open-source software for automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications. In this workshop you will get an introduction to Container Security - from Scanning to Micro-Segmentation.
It has been said that Kubernetes is essentially “a datacenter within a datacenter”. Kubernetes largely abstracts away the complexities of networking between 100's or 1000's of containers and services. Yet, the need to deploy fundamental security principles such as workload segmentation in ephemeral and constantly changing environments may seem daunting or even impossible given today’s automated pipelines and devops practices.
🎓 What you will learn
In this online meetup developers will learn:
  • What is Kubernetes and Kubernetes fundamentals
  • How to use Kubernetes to automate deploying, scale and manage container-based applications
  • Review: Docker vs. Kubernetes
  • Fundamentals of Kubernetes networking
  • Approaches to segmenting workloads in Kubernetes
  • How NeuVector specifically provides automated micro-segmentation enforcement and full-lifecycle container security
  • Resources to help you learn more
🎒 How to get ready for our containers workshop
Feel free to bring your laptop to the webinar and we will do all the steps together. In order to participate please install Docker Community Edition on your PC (available for Mac, and for Windows).
In order to get ready and take the full advantage of the Containers workshop it is recommended to install the prerequisite software: - Docker for Mac or Windows (and other) machines - just visit the following Docker Community Edition page - https://hub.docker.com/search/?type=edition&offering=community In order to test your Docker installation by writing in the terminal:
docker run ubuntu echo Hello World
You should be able to see "Hello World" message. That confirms the installation of the Docker - and you are ready for our webinar / workshop!
👩‍💻 Who should attend
Developers, cloud developers, DevOps Engineers, full stack developers,
🎓 Speakers
