GreenTech SW - An evidence-based approach to tackling the climate crisis fairly in cities
By Green Tech South West
Green Tech South West will welcome Sara Telahoun, senior consultant and cities specialist at Anthesis to share her knowledge about creating an evidence-based approach to tackling the climate crisis in a fair and equitable way in cities.
Sara is an experienced cities technical consultant with a background in climate change reporting and greenhouse gas emissions accounting. She manages the development of the SCATTER GHG emissions measurement and modelling tool, and also supports local governments to use the tool as part of wider climate strategy development. She sits on Bristol City Council's Environmental Sustainability Board, working with other local experts on the strategy to net zero for the city.
In this talk Sara will explore what an evidence-based approach looks like and how different stakeholders all play their part in this journey; individuals, businesses, academia and government.
She'll talk about her work in supporting local councils in the UK with their climate strategies and action plans using tools like SCATTER. She'll also talk about her work with Catalyse Change, a Bristol based organisation helping to build the next generation of female sustainability leaders through mentoring, training and confidence building workshops.
