By Utmost Wealth Solutions
During the course of 2020 we will be holding a series of monthly, CPD-qualifying, webinars for professional advisers examining the impact of Covid-19 and how global economies will fair after the pandemic. The series will lead us through key events such as the US 2020 election in November and beyond.
In our first event, we are delighted to welcome Paul Johnson, Director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies and Professor Matthew Goodwin as they undertake a comprehensive exploration of the financial future of the UK economy and tax policy post Covid-19.
Paul Johnson has been director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies since January 2011. He is a columnist for The Times. He is currently a member of the UK Climate Change Committee, and of the Banking Standards Board.
Previous roles have included time as chief economist at the Department for Education and as director of public spending at HM Treasury, where he also served as deputy head of the government economic service.
Paul was appointed CBE in the 2018 birthday honours. He was a member of the winning Keble college Oxford team in the 2017/18 Christmas University Challenge series.
Matthew J. Goodwin is an academic, bestselling writer and speaker known for his work on geo-political volatility and risk. He is Professor of Politics and Associate Fellow at the Royal Institute of International Affairs at Chatham House. Matthew has advised hundreds of organizations around the world, from the UK Prime Minister's Office to financial institutions and successfully forecast the vote for Brexit, vote for Trump and the 2019 Conservative Party majority. His most recent book, National Populism, was among the 2018 Financial Times books of the year.
