How the adoption of reused & remanufactured tech can turn the tide on ewaste?

Green Tech South West welcomes Anthony Levy and Louise Whitaker from Cistor, to talk us through what using remanufactured and refurbished ICT actually means.
This sector shows how there is a huge - and largely untapped - opportunity to move from a linear to circular model, thereby keeping resources in use for longer. Extending the life of tech through remanufacturing and reuse enables us to turn off the tap of e-waste.
Anthony and Louise will discuss their experience of deploying reused and remanufactured technology in critical situations such as hospitals, aircraft carriers, stock exchanges and banks. Drawing on real examples from their own industry, and parallel industries such as the automotive sector, they'll share concrete lessons on how we can break down the barriers to reusing previously manufactured technology.
The pair will look at how network infrastructure decisions don't have to be binary, and will discuss how a combination of new and remanufactured technology can provide solutions to complex organisational problems. They'll cover how we can move ICT provision from a product model to a service model, enabling providers to offer the best solutions to the challenge.
During the talk, Anthony and Louise will also be polling Green Tech South West members to gain an understanding of what audience members perceive as the main barriers to adoption of remanufactured and reused technology in our IT infrastructures, as we come together to change perceptions.
