C-Change Conversations: Climate Change 101
By Princeton Public Library
On the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day, ReThink Energy NJ presents the first in a series of online public programs and discussions titled "C-Change Conversations: Climate Change 101."
There is no bigger global environmental challenge than climate change. The session will include a dynamic, non-partisan and factual presentation that answers the questions many Americans have about climate change: How do we know climate change is real and is caused by humans? What is the scientific consensus? What are the dangers? Is there hope?
C-Change Conversations is a Princeton-based nonprofit organization. The group developed its "C-Change Primer" in consultation with independent climate scientists and public policy specialists and has presented it to more than 9,500 people nationwide, including across the South and Midwest.
The presentation will be given by Kathleen Biggins, president and co-founder of C-Change Conversations, and facilitated by Tom Gilbert, campaign director for ReThink Energy NJ and New Jersey Conservation Foundation.
The C-Change Primer provides an accessible overview of the science behind climate change and a clear-eyed assessment of the potential risks ahead. It frames climate change in terms of the three areas that are important to Americans voters: jobs and the economy; health and personal security; and terrorism, refugee crises, and geopolitical security.
This presentation is being co-sponsored by C-Change Conversations, NJ Conservation Foundation and the library.
