Handmade at Home - A Virtual Workshops Series
Banjo as a Whole with Rachel Eddy
*Suggested donation of $15
During this workshop we will learn a tune, and use it to explore the deeper levels of playing clawhammer banjo beyond just the notes. There are many aspects of playing including tone, drop-thumb patterns, and phrasing of notes to make a tune groove that will be discussed. Additionally, good mechanics and economy of motion to help make your playing flow smoothly, and avoid repetitive stress injuries will be covered. Regardless of your current playing ability, there will be something useful for everybody at every stage of learning in this workshop!
Rachel Eddy is a native of West Virginia who grew up in a musical family steeped in the traditions of Appalachian music and dance.
