Falling in Love with Love
with Jasmine Guillory, Farrah Rochon, Yaffa Santos, and Jane Igharo
Jasmine Guillory comes together on a panel with fellow romance writers Alisha Rai, Farrah Rochon, Yaffa Santos, and Jane Igharo to discuss the ins and outs of the genre. They will discuss writing, romance, and women of color protagonists. The conversation will start with discussion of the panelists’ most recent novels, including Guillory’s Party of Two, Rai’s Girl Gone Viral, Rochon’s The Boyfriend Project, Santos’ A Taste of Sage, and Igharo’s Ties That Tether. From there, the conversation could go anywhere, from the writing process, to personal inspirations, to life stories.
About the Authors:
Jasmine Guillory is the New York Times bestselling author of The Wedding Date, The Proposal, The Wedding Party, Royal Holiday, and Party of Two. Her work has appeared in O, The Oprah Magazine, Cosmopolitan, Real Simple, and TIME. She lives in Oakland, California.
A native of south Louisiana, Farrah Rochon is a highly awarded author. Her debut novel, Deliver Me, the first in her Holmes Brothers series, garnered rave reviews, earning Farrah several SORMAG Readers' Choice Awards. Farrah is also a two-time finalist for Romance Writers of America's RITA Award and has been a Romantic Times Book Review Reviewers’ Choice Award nominee. In 2015, Farrah won the Emma Award for Author of the Year. When she is not writing, Farrah spends most of her time reading, traveling the world, hanging around on Twitter, visiting Disney World, and trying to attend as many Broadway shows as her budget will allow. An admitted sports fanatic, Farrah feeds her addiction to football by watching New Orleans Saints games on Sunday afternoons.
Yaffa S. Santos was born in New Jersey, and currently lives in Florida. She graduated from Sarah Lawrence College, where she studied writing and visual art. Her debut novel, A Taste of Sage, combines her interests in the romance genre and the art of cooking.
Jane Abieyuwa Igharo was born in Nigeria and immigrated to Canada at the age of twelve. She has a journalism degree from the University of Toronto and works as a communications specialist in Ontario, Canada. She writes about strong, audacious, beautifully flawed Nigerian women much like the ones in her life. When she isn’t writing, she’s watching “Homecoming” for the hundredth time and trying to match Beyoncé’s vocals to no avail. Her debut novel Ties That Tether will be released by Berkley (Penguin Random House) in September 2020.
About the Interviewer:
Alisha Rai pens award-winning contemporary romances. Her novels have been featured on the IndieNext and the LibraryReads lists, and been named Best Books of the Year by Washington Post, NPR, New York Public Library, Amazon, Entertainment Weekly, Reader’s Digest, Kirkus, “O” the Oprah Magazine, and Cosmopolitan Magazine. When she’s not writing, Alisha is traveling or tweeting.
