📷Juditha Dowd’s verse biography, "Audubon’s Sparrow," was recently released from Rose Metal Press in April, 2020. She is the author of a full-length collection, "Mango in Winter" (Grayson Books), three poetry chapbooks, short fiction and lyric essays. 📷Maxine Susman has written seven poetry books and publishes her work in Fourth River, Paterson Literary Review, Presence, Slant, Crab Orchard Review, Adanna, and elsewhere. She teaches a poetry workshop at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute of Rutgers University. "My Mother's Medicine" tells the story of her mother, Florence Carol Levin, a young Jewish girl from Brooklyn who graduated during the Great Depression from the only all-women’s medical school in the country.
