Dojo: The Extraordinary Strokes of Genius in Everyday Objects with Danielle Evans
By TypeEd
The Typography Dojo is a place where we come together to explore the techniques in the practice of type and typography with training from design Sensei. Join us to learn from the masters.
We are kicking off a Month of Lettering with food typographer Danielle Evans, continue with Australian-based calligraphy identity designer Matt Vergotis, and finishing with UK-based object letterer Rob Draper.
Join us as Danielle Evans, food typographer, peels back the layers of relationship between type treatment, objects, and lighting with an unusual look at her surroundings. Learn from Danielle as she refines naturally occurring beziers and gives extraordinary purpose to everyday items.
Danielle Evans is a visual punner and lettering artist from Columbus, Ohio. In 2013, she combined lettering, photography and dad jokes to start food typography and continues to blaze the niche's breadcrumb trails. Her work has grown beyond edible goods to plants, wearables, and everyday objects; she embraces the strangest visual challenges with optimism, and has probably oiled more lobsters than you. Her clients include Target, Disney, American Greetings, Aria, TAZO, FYI for SXSW, Lays, Parade, Condé Nast, Tesco, Bath & Body Works, Cadillac, Purina, theGuardian, FOUR, DiGiornio's, The Washington Post, Seattle Times, LDS , and Kellogg.
