In this episode, we will piggyback on the last edition and take the value discussion to the Legal, Management, and Insurance areas of the transaction. In our January edition, we focused on the brokerage side of the transaction, welcoming Mike Dwyer from Guardian Jet and Chad Anderson from Jetcraft. We also delved into the maintenance side of the transaction, welcoming Mike Minchow from Duncan Aviation.

As we stressed in the last edition, the costs across the different segments of the transaction shape the final value. We will continue in this edition to provide the right questions to ask the providers and help you listen for the right answers.

Nikki Higgins, Aircraft Management Sales Director, Jet Aviation | Nikki Higgins was appointed ACM Sales Director in March 2022, where she is responsible for facilitating Jet Aviation’s aircraft management in the western region of the US. Nikki was a recipient of the NBAA 40 under 40 award which recognizes a new generation of innovative thinkers who are challenging norms and breaking barriers to shape the future of the business aviation industry.

Nikki began her aviation career in 2010 working in flight scheduling at Avjet. Over the course of four years, she progressed into the role of Director of VIP services, after which she joined Jet Edge as Charter Sales Manager. During this time, Avjet was acquired by Jet Aviation and in 2019 Nikki returned to the company as Charter Sales Director for the western region of the US. In this new role, she helped to grow the company’s presence on the west coast and expand Jet Aviation’s charter footprint.

Nikki holds a degree in business with an emphasis in marketing from San Diego State University. During her studies, she spent a semester abroad studying international policy at The University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.

Lance Toland, Founder, Lance Toland Associates Ltd | Now in his 40th year,  Atlanta-based Lance Toland Associates is a recognised leader in aviation insurance management with a worldwide client base that includes actor John Travolta and Fortune 500 companies, as well as handling the largest corporate managed fleet in Moscow, operating Gulfstream Jets and Airbus Corporate aircraft. A 17,000-hour pilot, Lance also holds an Airline Transport Rating with multiple type ratings and is a regular guest speaker at many aviation-related events and a participant in industry expert panel discussions. Lance and his wife, Jan Brown, met at the University of West Georgia on a blind date in an aeroplane hangar and have been married for 35 years. They have two children: Ansley Ruth and Lance Jr., both of whom are also rated pilots.  The Tolands divide their time between their home on Sea Island, Georgia, and their family farm with an airstrip in Milner, Georgia, which is south of Atlanta.
