We've known Casey since she was navigating life with her first reactive dog...the dog who would eventually lend his name to Leroy & Company. And one of the things we admire most is that she's never stopped letting the dogs teach her.

On paper, people might assume we come from different worlds. Casey is known for positive reinforcement. I'm known for talking about feel, pressure, release, and the nervous system. The internet loves to sort people into camps.

I don't. Because dogs don't care about camps. They care about whether we're listening.

Neither of us believes the same things we did when we first started training. The dogs had other plans. They challenged our certainty, exposed our blind spots, and kept asking bigger questions than any method could answer.

So that's what we're talking about. How dogs changed us, what we've had to unlearn, where we've found common ground, and what really matters when you're standing in front of a living, breathing being who's trying to make sense of the world alongside you.
