Music Monday concert with David LaMotte, Roger Day, and Billy Jonas!
By David LaMotte
Join us at 5PM Eastern on Monday, April 13 for a virtual kids’ concert with David LaMotte, Roger Day, and Billy Jonas. If you’re cooped up at home, nothing like inviting some nationally-known childrens’ performers over to play a few songs! The whole show is brought to you by Buncombe Partnership for Children, in honor of the 2020 Week of the Child.
David LaMotte’s kids’ CD S.S. Bathtub is the winner of four national and international songwriting contests, including a Parents’ Guide to Children’s Media Award for the entire recording, and first place in the children’s category of the USA Songwriting Contest for the title song, which later became a children’s book, by the same title.
More importantly, he’s married to Deanna LaMotte, the Early Childhood Systems Coordinator for Buncombe Partnership for Children, and counts among his friends these other two guys, whom he invited over for the fun...
Roger Day is a Parents’ Choice Gold Award winner, with a slew of kids’ records with backup singers like the Indigo Girls and Nanci Griffith on them. His song, “I Like Yaks” went to #1 on Sirius XM Kids Place Live, and he was awarded NACA’s “Harry Chapin Award for Contributions to Humanity”, for his numerous Head Start benefit concerts.
Billy Jonas is also a Parents’ Choice Gold Award winner, with a slew of kids’ records with collaborations with folks like Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul, and Mary, and Alison Krauss. He’s performed at the White House Easter Egg Roll, and his CD Happy Accidents was listed in USA Today’s Top 10 Family Recordings.
The concert is free, so tell everyone you know who has kids (or is secretly a kid) to stop by and enjoy some wholesome, fun music! The whole thing will be wrapped up by 6:00. Hope you can join us!
