About the Authors
Nancy Werlin (she/her) is the author of ten previous books for teens, including the National Book Award Finalist The Rules of Survival, the Edgar Award winner The Killer's Cousin, and the New York Times bestseller Impossible. Nancy Werlin lives outside Boston.
Ellen Booraem spent nineteen years as a small-town journalist before quitting her day job to write three award-winning fantasies for readers age ten and older (The Unnameables, Small Persons with Wings, and Texting the Underworld). A fourth book, River Magic, comes out in April 2021 from Penguin/Dial Books for Young Readers. Booraem volunteers as a writing coach for school students in her local middle school and is on the organizing committee for Word, the annual Blue Hill (Maine) literary arts festival. She lives in Brooklin, Maine, with her partner, painter Robert Shillady.
