Achieving national targets for decarbonisation through the installation of heat pumps will require retrofit to existing homes with gas boilers.

With only around 1,000 heat pump installers currently MCS accredited, a large proportion of future heat pumps will also need to be installed by engineers who currently fit gas boilers.
