In the wake of the so-called “ceasefire” in Gaza, Israel has continued killing Palestinians, demolishing entire neighborhoods, and entrenching its control over the land. Meanwhile, the UNSC has officially endorsed US President Donald Trump’s 20-point plan for Gaza, effectively granting international legitimacy for perpetual Israeli-US occupation and laying the groundwork for a return to “business as usual” after genocide. But what do these developments actually mean on the ground?

Join Al-Shabaka for a conversation with Inès Abdel Razek and Munir Nuseibah on the politics behind the UNSC resolution, the implementability of the US-Israeli plan, and the scenarios now being advanced for Gaza and for Palestine more broadly.

Inès Abdel Razek is an Al-Shabaka member and the Executive Director of the Palestine Institute for Public Diplomacy (PIPD) and its digital platform Rabet, an independent Palestinian organization focusing on international mobilization and digital campaigning for Justice, Freedom and Equality.

Munir Nuseibah is an Al-Shabaka member, a human rights lawyer, and an assistant professor at Al-Quds University’s faculty of law. He is also the director (and co-founder) of Al-Quds Human Rights Clinic, the first accredited clinical legal education program in the Arab World; and the director of the Community Action Center in Jerusalem.

Tariq Kenney-Shawa is Al-Shabaka's US Policy Fellow and co-host of Al-Shabaka's Policy Lab series. He holds a master's degree in international affairs from Columbia University. Tariq's research and writing have covered a range of topics, from the role of open-source intelligence in exposing Israel's war crimes to analysis of Palestinian liberation tactics.
