Becoming an Illustrator

How do you become a children’s book illustrator? Join children’s book illustrator Chelsea O’Byrne as she shares her journey to becoming an illustrator, from childhood to art school and working professionally. Chelsea will share examples of how her work has evolved, along with advice and lessons she has picked up about working in publishing and making art for children.
Chelsea O’Byrne is TPL’s 2024 Illustrator in Residence. The Joanne Fitzgerald Illustrator in Residence Program is a joint program of IBBY Canada, Toronto Public Library, the Canadian Urban Libraries Council, and the Young Family.
This program will be recorded and available for replay until October 31, 2024.
