Environmentalist in Residence: The Pollinator Medicine Wheel
By TPL Programs
The decline of pollinator species such as bees, butterflies, moths, and others, is like many other challenges of our time, multi-factored. The solutions must be as expansive, inclusive, and widespread as possible.
Shawna Riley is an educator and Band Social Development Worker for T'it'q'et First Nation in British Columbia, and incorporated cultural teachings, visuals, and stories into pollinator conservation work.
Join Shawna in conversation with Vicki Wojcik and Junaid Khan of Pollinator Partnership Canada as they share stories and challenges of pollinator conservation in Canada.
Junaid is TPL's 2021 Environmentalist in Residence (EnvIR).
By the end of this talk, you will be able to:
- Identify the main causes of pollinator decline in Canada;
- Distinguish between groups of pollinators;
- Understand the crucial role of pollinators in our ecological and cultural systems.
