Advance Access: P. Djèlí Clark
By Macmillan Publishers
New Date: This event will be held on August 26th.
This pre-publication author series is a chance for booksellers, librarians, and other industry professionals to hear from the author, ask their questions directly, and gain insight into the writer's process and story behind the book.
Join us for a conversation between author P. Djèlí Clark and Tor.com Books Editor Christina Orlando about Clark’s highly anticipated new book, RING SHOUT, out October 13. Called “a sublime work of revolutionary body horror” by fellow author Sarah Gailey, this dark novella gives a fantastical twist to real American history.
P. Djèlí Clark is a Hugo, Nebula, and Locus award-winning author. His novella The Haunting of Tram Car 015 was a finalist for this year's Hugo and Nebula Awards, and was named a best book of 2019 by NPR and The Washington Post. When not writing speculative fiction, Clark works as an academic historian whose research spans comparative slavery and emancipation in the Atlantic World.
Christina Orlando is the Books Editor & Publicity Coordinator for Tor.com, where they get to be a book nerd all day. As a freelance writer covering poetry, gender, and sexuality, their work has appeared Electric Literature, Catapult, gal-dem, THEM, Adroit Journal, and Book Riot. They are a 2019 recipient of Spotify’s Sound Up grant for people of color in podcasting. They currently reside in Brooklyn, NY but would like you to pretend that says Provençe, France for the sake of maintaining their allure.
