The Twin Cities Jazz Festival Presents Jazz Fest Live Featuring No Room For Squares

By Twin Cities Jazz Festival

Named after the Hank Mobley album, No Room For Squares is a bebop quintet that interprets many of the classic 50s and 60s recordings from Blue Note Records. The band, led by drummer Bill Stieger, began rehearsing in 2014 and has made regular appearances at the Twin Cities Jazz Festival, the Black Dog Cafe, and Jazz Central. Each member of the quintet of jazz veterans brings his unique talent in service to arrangements by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Horace Silver, Hank Mobley, and the Cannonball Adderley Quintet, and other hard-bop stylists.
No Room For Squares offers a funky, finger-poppin' rendition of the classics, utilizing tight arrangements, hard swing, and never forgets it is performing for an audience.
Tonight's show is a re-broadcast from a previous Jazz Fest Live show. Bill Stieger will be on the the live chat in real time!
