Beyond Travel: Unpacking the challenges of access in international education

By The PIE

Study abroad and the competencies it provides students are more relevant than ever in today’s globalised economy. Industry requires graduates not only to have the technical skills but also the intercultural competencies to work in diverse teams and create products for global users. Yet less than 2% of students are able to access the traditional study abroad experience, thereby compounding the inequality gap.
In this webinar, we will explore how technology can resolve this by giving “the other 98%” access to the in-demand skills required for employment, and do so at the scale required to close the inequality gap. Our expert panel will explain the problem, and the consequences of it going unchecked. We will discuss solutions, and examine how Podium Education’s ‘Global Tech Experience’ has provided a transformative solution at two US universities – Arizona State University and University of South Florida.
Join us to hear how technology can be deployed to address this important dimension of the issues of equity and accessibility, in order to equip all students for employment in a globalised world.
