By Outlander VC

Join Outlander Labs' Paige Craig and Jeremy Johnson—CEO & Co-founder of Andela—to chat about how investors can hunt, invest, and add value to growth-stage deals, transforming to remote-first teams, and the decentralization of the workforce.
About Jeremy:
Jeremy Johnson is the CEO and Co-Founder of Andela. Founded in 2014 on the premise that brilliance is evenly distributed, Andela is a global talent network that connects companies with remote engineers in emerging markets. Broadly recognized as a leader in the transition to remote work, Andela has catalyzed the growth of tech ecosystems across Africa and become a trusted talent partner for hundreds of leading engineering firms, including GitHub, Cloudflare, and ViacomCBS. A global organization spanning four continents, Andela is backed by investors including Generation Investment Management, Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, Spark Capital, and Google Ventures.
Prior to founding Andela, Jeremy co-founded 2U, one of the most respected education technology companies in the world. While there, he served in multiple leadership roles and helped to take 2U public (NASDAQ: TWOU) shortly before stepping down in 2014.
Jeremy is recognized broadly for his work as an innovator in both education technology and the future of work. He has spoken at the White House and Congress in addition to most major global tech conferences, and has been recognized by Fast Company as “One of the 100 Most Creative in Business,” by Goldman Sachs as “One of the 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs,” and by his Samoyed, Scout, as an excellent provider of treats.
Outside of Andela, Jeremy serves on the Presidential Advisory Board for Job Creation for the African Development Bank, is a term member of the Council on Foreign Relations, served as a Member of The Commission on the Future of Undergraduate Education for the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and co-authored a book for the World Economic Forum: ‘Education & Skills 2.0: New Targets & Innovative Approaches.’
