The Witch's Mark: The Magick of Tattoo with Mulysa Mayhem
By Hex Education Network
Join Mulysa Mayhem in a live online class where you will learn about the magick of the tattoo. From the enigmatic marks of Otzi the “Iceman”, to the elaborate ornamentation of the Siberian “Ice Princess”, the mummified “bruja” of ancient Peru, to the erotically adorned priestesses of ancient Egypt, the tattoo has always held a certain mystique. From the process of etching something permanent into human flesh to the designs themselves, there has always been intrigue, taboo, and fear surrounding it. There is a whole spiritual history of the tattoo that most of society has refused to acknowledge. In this course you will learn a brief historical overview of sacred tattooing and journey into contemporary times where modern-day practitioners of the ancient arts continue to utilize the tattoo in their personal journeys of initiation and transformation.
Class Highlights
- How the tattoo has played an essential part in societal and spiritual rituals in almost every culture and civilization throughout time
- How the sanctity of this art form is still alive and flourishing in popular and magickal culture.
- How giving and receiving a tattoo is a rite of initiation and an alchemical operation unto itself
- How one might properly create & acquire a truly magickal tattoo.
- We will see why, throughout time, we have followed the dictum, “DECORATE THY TEMPLE.”
