The Lenormand Deck: A Complete Introduction with Levi Rowland

By Hex Education Network

At your local bookstore, or metaphysical shop, there's a small deck popping up right next to the endless boxes of tarot. It sounds French (is actually kind of German), seems smaller (only 36 cards, really?) and bears the name of a woman who never even used them (she was famous, and branding is important!): the Lenormand deck.
The Lenormand deck is a 36 card system, stemming from French and German sources, used for divination. It's a system completely unique to itself, not a kissing cousin of tarot but a fully independent tool. Decks like Lenormand have been popular in Continental Europe for a long time, based off of the 36-card deck used to play the game piquet, but they are just now starting to blossom in the English-speaking world.
  • What is this deck?
  • How do we read with it?
  • Is it anything like tarot?
  • Better, worse, or just "different"?
If you've been curious about branching out from tarot, or if you've never even touched cards in your life, then Lenormand is a great system to explore. It's straight-forward, full of rich but simple symbolism, and tells a narrative story that makes reading for yourself or clients practical and meaningful. This class will take you through the complete Lenormand system including:
  • The meaning of the cards themselves.
  • Reading the cards in combination with each other
  • Useful spreads
  • How to grow and expand your relationship with the deck
Cartomancy has a long and rich history, and it goes way beyond the traditional tarot deck that dominates the scene. This class will help you explore and master one of the most intriguing, popular, and useful systems available to any card-reader (experienced or novice). So, laissez les cartes tomber … let the cards fall.
