Black in the Governor's Race
While the representation of Black women has grown in Congress and state legislatures, they are not represented in major statewide positions. And there has never been a Black woman elected as governor in the U.S. This year, Black women look to make historic gains in midterm elections with a number of candidates attempting to blaze a trail in their state's top office. Capital B sits down with some of the candidates campaigning to be the first Black woman governor in the United States.

A Historic Nomination
In the 200 plus-year history, five women have been nominated to the Supreme Court, but never a Black woman. President Biden has picked Federal Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to fill the court's most recent vacancy, making her the first Black woman nominated to the high court. Join Capital B for a conversation on the power of this historic first.
