From rehearsals to performances to how all of the elements work together to realize a production on stage, learn directly from an actor and director who has worked at the Stratford Festival, the largest classical repertory company in North America.

Our Actor in residence is Qasim Khan. Qasim is a Dora Award winning actor whose work has been seen across Canada. Most recently, he starred in The Neverending Story, Paradise Lost, The Comedy of Errors, and played roles in Henry VIII, The Crucible, Timon of Athens, and The Madwoman of Chaillot (Stratford Festival). Other recent work has included: Paradise Lost (Centaur); Acha Bacha (TPM/Buddies); All’s Well That Ends Well, Hamlet, Das Ding (Canadian Stage); The Crucible, The Royal Comedians, Dirt, Letters from the Great War, Alligator Pie (Soulpepper); A Craigslist Cantata (NAC/Citadel/ATP); Anne of Green Gables and Alice Through the Looking-Glass (Charlottetown Festival). Film/TV work has included roles on Nikita, Saving Hope, Dan For Mayor, The Riftworld Chronicles, and Little Mosque, and he appears in the Stratford HD films of Timon of Athens and Henry VIII. Qasim is also the host of The Early Modern Cooking Show and can be seen in the upcoming Disney feature Sneakerella. He has been nominated for Dora, MyTheatre, and BroadwayWorld Awards, and was the recipient of the John Hirsch Memorial Award from the Stratford Festival. Qasim is a graduate of the Soulpepper Academy and is a company member of the Stratford Festival and Toronto’s Howland Company.
