In 2019, Zebras Unite founders met with Sam Mehoke of Development Matters, a Portland research and evaluation company (and fellow Zebra), to design and conduct a survey of the community.

The results of this survey informed Zebras Unite’s identity, strengths, and values of “Truthfulness, mutualism, emergence, and fierceness “, as declared in ZU Medium post: “Pivot to People”.
