A celebration of jazz as an original American art form, honoring its roots alongside the broader contributions of Black visual artists and classical composers.

Society of Chemists is a Twin Cities quartet led by saxophonist, flutist, composer, and educator Stephanie Wieseler. Featuring Jack Barrett on piano and synthesizer, Charlie Bruber on bass, and Ben Ehrlich on drums, the group explores the space between jazz, classical, electronic music, and pop. They describe their sound as “chamber jazz fusion,” combining intricate compositions with a spirit of experimentation and improvisation. Their music is playful, thoughtful, and deeply rooted in the sounds and landscapes of Minnesota. After appearing on the main stage of the Twin Cities Jazz Festival, Society of Chemists released their debut album in August 2026. Together, they bring a distinctly modern and wonderfully curious voice to the Twin Cities jazz community.
